Life is made up of many pieces, like a puzzle. Here I attempt to put them all together.

Friday's Fave Five

This week I am linking up to Friday's Fave Five over at Living to Tell the Story.

So without further ado here are some of my favorite five things about this week.

1. MY HELPER IS BACK! After being gone Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday and then on Monday she was able to come back on Tuesday Her son was very ill and needed her to be with him. I'm so glad he's doing better. And I'm so glad to have her back. Everything just runs so much more smoothly when she's here.

2Sleeping in on a rainy morning. This morning we woke up to rain, rain, rain. My early kids came in and went back to sleep so I was able to catch another hour of rest on the couch. It was awesome to lay there and listen to the rain on the windows and doze. It made my day.

3. Emely. Tuesday was Emely's first day with us and we have enjoyed having her here with us.

4.  The blessing of having a roof over my head.  Earlier this week we found out the mother of one of the kids we babysit had fallen on hard times and she and her son had no place to live. It made me realize how grateful I am to have the security of a roof over my head. We were fortunate to be able to offer her a temporary place to stay while she looks for an apartment.

5. Coffee. This week has been cool and rainy and I have been enjoying lots of coffee. Almost as good as actually drinking coffee is the aroma of fresh coffee brewing. In fact, I think I'm going to go brew a fresh pot now.

  1. Glad your helper is back. My daughter is a helper on Friday’s to a teacher, and I pray she is a blessing there. An extra hour of sleep is such a wonderful thing. I wish I liked coffee; it always sounds so enticing when others talk about it. :-) Have a great weekend.

  2. Since two weeks it's raining everyday ! I am getting flippers ! Good that your helper is back and that the young mother found a place to stay. That's really sad.

  3. Glad to hear your helper is back and also that her son isn't so ill anymore.

We have had a number of listen to rain mornings as well it is nice to hear the sound. It keeps the farmers out of the potato fields though.

  4. I've been enjoying a nice cup of decaf every evening, along with my usual morning coffee. Just the smell of coffee is so delicious!

  6. Glad to have a new name on the list! Sounds like you are a very busy lady!

So nice that you could help out with giving a place to stay for a time.

Sleeping late in the morning, listeningto the rain is such a great way to start the day!

  7. Welcome to Friday's Fave Five, Rose. From reading your post, I'm assuming you are a child care provider? So am I!

The rain and the sleeping on the couch listening to it and the coffee. It sounds like a wonderfully lazy, morning. I don't get many of those so when it happens it's always a nice treat.

What a blessing that offer of someplace to stay until another home could be found must have been for that Mom. I can't imagine what a worry that would be for her.

Your front porch is absolutely gorgeous.
